Hello! My name is Allison JB Earle. Later I'll tell what the "J" and "B" stand for. I'm totally new to Wiki world, so my learning curve is very sharp right now.

The purpose of this Wiki is to connect with others who are also in the Summer '10 MEDT3401 class. So, welcome, to all who visit my Wiki-World.

My future teaching position is very nontraditional. I plan to continue teaching at a local homeschool hybrid academy and perhaps later (when my own children are older) teach high school (chemistry, preferably) at a charter or magnet school.
Before I can teach in a "traditional" setting, I need to complete requirements for my Initial Certification in Science Education. Since I tend to be a glutton for punishment, I'm also working toward an M.Ed. I finish my Initial Cert. Fall 2011, the M.Ed. 1.5 - 2 years after that.
To see an outline of the content of my favorite subject, chemistry, follow this link. Georgia Performance Standards - Chemistry

A large part of our family life is the home education of our six children. Our oldest, Morgan, is now a senior at LaGrange College. Our youngest, Moira, will be a young 4th grader this coming year. For a glimpse into the world of home education, check out this humorous video which addresses the difference between the homeschooler and the home schooled.
I'll let you decide into which category the Earles fit. ; )
